Goodbye My Little Friends!

 Today was our last day of school! 

We are all ready for a summer break...

but I will miss this group of firsties sooooo much!! :(

First Grade Fun

I'm spending my Sunday afternoon cranking out 20 year-end DVD's for my kiddos!

Tired!!

We had a fun day at Virginia Grove today! The weather was perfect and the kids had a great time. Thank you Louisa County Conservation (Kathy and Samantha!!) for an awesome day!

This teacher is tired though...!! :)

Little Country Line Dancers

Here are my cute little first graders all dressed up and ready for their country line dance with Miss Marilu and Mrs. Martin. They were busy practicing for many weeks and did an awesome job performing the dance for the entire school and lots of community visitors! :)

Spelling Word Practice

During our computer lab time on Thursdays we usually spend the first part using ABCYa!-Paint to practice our spelling words. It's a fun and colorful way to get some extra practice on those words.

Some of the first graders are doing the five sight words for their spelling words and several of them are doing the five sight words PLUS some extra "challenge" words! :)

Our New Pets

This week we are talking about pets. Today the first graders adopted virtual pets! :) They paid very close attention as I explained how to adopt the pet, copy the HTML code and paste it into a new Kidblog post. They had fun picking their pet, naming it and even changing the color! We used the website BunnyHeroLabs.
